Polar

Connect Polar with an organization access token and add a webhook for instant syncs.

RevGlance reads your Polar organization's customers, subscriptions and orders with an organization access token. It never changes anything in Polar.

Connect

  1. In Polar, open your organization's Settings and create an organization access token. Call it RevGlance.
  2. Give it the customers:read, subscriptions:read and orders:read scopes. Add customer_sessions:write too if you will send recovery emails.
  3. Copy the token. It starts with polar_oat_.
  4. Paste it under Organization access token and choose Connect Polar.

What the form asks for

Organization access tokenStored encryptedpolar_oat_…

Add the webhook

  1. In RevGlance, open Settings › Sources, open the Polar source's menu and choose Webhook. Copy the URL.
  2. In Polar, open your organization's Settings › Webhooks and add an endpoint with that URL. Pick the order, subscription and refund events.
  3. Copy the webhook's secret (whsec_…), paste it under Signing secret in RevGlance and save.

Polar signs its calls the Standard Webhooks way. RevGlance accepts both the older and the current way Polar derives the key from a whsec_ secret, so a secret made before or after Polar's September 2026 change works.

What RevGlance syncs

  • Customers, with their billing country and metadata, which segment filters can use.
  • Subscriptions, for MRR, seats, discounts, trials and cancellations, with the customer's reason and comment when they gave one.
  • Orders and their refunds. The first sync reads every order; later syncs read from three days before the last one, and once a week read every order again, since a refund only shows on its order.

How Polar is counted

  • Orders count before tax, with Polar's platform fee as the fee. A fee in another currency than the order shows as zero.
  • Refunds count before tax, like the charge. Polar gives no refund date, so a refund is dated when the order last changed.
  • A refund of an older order is caught by a full read once a week, so it can show up to a week late.
  • Chargebacks are not read, so a lost one stays counted as a charge unless the provider also reports it as a refund.
  • Failed charges are not reported, so that figure stays at zero.
  • MRR is the subscription amount, which Polar already lowers by a repeating discount. A one-time discount does not lower MRR.
  • MRR includes tax on tax-inclusive prices: Polar does not say which subscriptions use them. Charges and refunds count before tax.

Recovery emails

Recover sends customers to a Polar customer portal session to update their card. The token needs customer_sessions:write for that; without it, the email links to your own update-card page.
