Alerts and scheduled answers

Get told when a metric crosses a line, and get any answer by email or Slack on a schedule.

All of these go out from 08:00 in your timezone. RevGlance detects it from your browser once; change it in Settings › Notifications & look.

Threshold alerts

On any metric page, owners and admins choose Alert me and pick when:

  • the metric goes above or below a value, or
  • it moves more than X% month over month,

on the last complete month or the month to date. Alerts are checked once a day after the night's syncs, straight from the ledger, with no model and no cost.

An alert fires once when the figure crosses the line and re-arms when it goes back. The message has the figure, the threshold, the change, and links to Why and Show the math. Every check is recorded. Pause or delete alerts in Settings › Notifications & look.

Scheduled answers

Any answered Ask question can come back on its own:

  1. Open the answer on the Ask page and choose Send me this every….
  2. Pick daily, weekly (on a day you choose) or monthly.
  3. It comes by email. Tick Post it to Slack too when the business has a Slack webhook, then choose Schedule it.

Each run is the saved query on that day's data. No model is called and no question is used. It is saved as its own answer, linked to the first, so Show the math works on every run. Pause or stop a schedule on the Ask page. If a team member loses access to the business, they are told once and the schedule pauses.

Slack

Owners and admins add a Slack incoming webhook to a business in Settings › Businesses. It is stored encrypted, and alerts and scheduled answers for that business can then post to it.

The weekly report

Every Monday at 08:00, owners and admins get an email with the last seven days against the seven before, the briefing's findings and the customers who moved MRR most. Turn it off in Settings › Notifications & look.
