Privacy mode

Keep customer names, emails and personal metadata out of RevGlance altogether.

Privacy mode is off by default: names and emails are shown, and encrypted at rest. Turn it on per business in Settings › Businesses.

What changes

  • No names, emails or personal metadata are stored. Customers show as labels like "Customer 4F2A9C".
  • Search cannot find customers by name.
  • Links to the customer in Stripe, Paddle and Lemon Squeezy still work, so you can look someone up where their data already lives.
  • Gumroad buyers are keyed by a one-way hash of their email.
  • AI features send even less: Ask keeps attribute values out of what the model sees, and cancellation themes send no comments at all, even with Let AI read customer data on.

Turning privacy mode on scrubs names already stored. Turning it off syncs again to bring them back.

Emails in privacy mode

Recovery and survey emails only go out when the owner turns on send in privacy mode. The address is then fetched from the provider at send time (Stripe, Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, Polar, Braintree, Recurly, Chargebee or Shopify) and appears nowhere afterwards. App Store and Google Play share no address, and Gumroad cannot be looked up by its hash, so those customers cannot be emailed.
