API and AI assistants
Read your metrics from your own code with the REST API, or from Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor over MCP.
AI assistants (MCP)
RevGlance runs an MCP server, so AI assistants can read your metrics with the same checks and reports as Ask. They never call RevGlance's model and never spend questions.
Settings › AI assistants shows the server address with the steps for each client. In short:
- Add RevGlance as a custom connector with the address from that page, ending in
/mcp. - Sign in to RevGlance when the assistant asks. The consent screen says what it can and cannot read.
- Ask away. Each query is kept as an answer with its Show the math link.
For Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http revglance https://your-revglance-address/mcp
Then run /mcp in Claude Code to sign in.
The assistant gets four read-only tools:
list-businesses: the businesses you can read, with their currency, your role and each source with when it last synced.describe-data: what can be asked of one business: every metric with its meaning and unit, the months with data, and the plans, intervals, countries, sources and attributes that can filter or split a query.query-metrics: one or more metrics over a range of months, filtered and split like the metric pages. RevGlance checks every name, says what it changed and counts with the same reports, and keeps each answer with a Show the math link.explain-figure: the math behind one figure: its formula worked out and the largest rows that add up to it. In privacy mode customers appear as short labels.
Settings › AI assistants also lists who connected which client and what each asked, and disconnects one, revoking its tokens. The demo and ended trials cannot connect.
REST API
A read-only REST API at /api/v1, on paid plans.
- Create a key in Settings › API keys. It is shown once.
- Send it as a bearer token:
Authorization: Bearer <key>.
curl https://your-revglance-address/api/v1/businesses \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $REVGLANCE_KEY" \
-H "Accept: application/json"
It covers businesses, the metric catalog, metrics with the same filters and splits as the metric pages (each figure with a Show the math link), the Why explanation, and customers and charges with cursor paging. Privacy mode applies as on screen. Each key can make 120 requests a minute, every request is logged on the keys page, and keys expire after a year. API keys never work for MCP.
The full reference, with every endpoint and field, is in the REST API reference.
